by LynnOn a warm Saturday morning our stem crew ( 3 eager counselors and 6 enthusiastic students) worked as a team participated in an adventurous Geocache hunt in Taipei City. The reason for this was that we would be Geocaching on a regular basis in Europe. For those of you not familiar with Geocaching, this is a global treasure hunt were participants have to find "caches" that have been cleverly concealed. The second cache we found was quite alarming. The name itself sent a shiver down our spines, Entomophobia on Valentine's Day. After searching for a few minutes, we discovered it hidden among some tree roots. This cache yielded a lot of cool treasure. Including two travel bugs that Eric and Chris will carry to Europe. In order for these two items to fulfill their mission The third cache was hidden in a stone wall next to a beautiful hay field. The hot sun was getting to the kids, affecting their judgment but they still persisted in their search. Thanks to the hint from the geocache app, I was able to find the cache after fumbling through some vine leaves that covered a wall. The students found two trackable bugs as well as some small thingamabobs all kept safe in the cache.Overall the students enjoyed the treasure hunt and hopefully they will have as much fun discovering interesting locations while they hunt for caches in Europe.
